Living Social, one of the biggest competitors to Groupon and other daily deal couponing sites, is scoring big points today for a national deal offering a $20 Amazon.com gift card for $10. 
The company, which received a $175 million investment from Amazon in December, has already sold more than 354,000 of the deal in a little over 3 hours. At $10 a pop, that means Living Social has sold more than $3.5 million worth of the daily deal.
With more than 20 hours left to go, it’s probable that this deal will far exceed competitor Groupon’s recent nationwide deal with Gap. That deal, which offered $50 in Gap merchandise for $25, previously held a record of $11 million worth of coupons sold.
